Gaming Coworker wanted to play a game with me on Steam

So, I looked up the game, and its requirements, and I meet most of them. One issue I see is that the minimum CPU requirements require quad-core 2.8 GHz CPU, and I have only a quad-core 2.5 GHz CPU. The other, more glaring issue, is the network connection. I've never seen this requirement before for other games, and it states that I need a Broadband internet connection. A quick search on Google shows that's roughly 100 MBps download speed, and 20 MBps upload.

Guess what I have, in my bedroom? What I've been operating on for years? 15 MBps download, and 1.7 MBps upload. 😑 I might as well just rope right now, as it's never been more over.

On the other hand, this sure does explain why I can't watch youtube videos at 1080p. And why I've gotten used to 360p and 480p (when the latter is available).

I only meant it as an expression, though. I've habitualized "living" too much at this point to even consider the thought, anymore.

Are modern games worth it? The most advanced I play is Amid Evil, and it's not as hardware-demanding as many modern AAA titles. That's the good thing about indies and old games, though; the computer I bought was a used, refurbished computer with older parts, for only a couple hundred dollars.

Is that the new Doom? A coworker of mine mentioned it when we were discussing modern games recently. He was a fan of MGS, too, but I doubt I could run any of these games on my PC, anyway. And I heard the studio behind Elden Ring went woke, so I don't want to support them.
